Senior Financial Adviser

The Opportunity

The Mackay branch is currently seeking a full-time Financial Adviser to either work with our established client base or continue to work with your existing client book. With the support of Australia’s largest full-service wealth management firm, you will be leading client relationships and delivering strategic advice across investments, superannuation, retirement planning and broader wealth management.

As the role is based out of our Mackay office, you will need to be locally based or willing to commit to a sea change in tropical Queensland. If you are a qualified, experienced Adviser who operates with client’s best interest at the forefront of all you do, we want to meet you!

Benefits

  • Join a long‑standing, well‑resourced firm with strong operational, compliance and paraplanning support, and access to an established client base
  • Genuine lifestyle balance, including a 9‑day fortnight and 5 weeks of annual leave
  • Participation in a performance‑based bonus structure aligned to client outcomes and growth
  • Clear long‑term career pathway, with scope for increased responsibility and potential equity or partnership opportunities

What You Will Be Doing

  • Build, manage and grow long‑term client relationships, delivering strategic, client‑first financial advice across investments, insurance, superannuation and strategy
  • Prepare for and conduct annual client review meetings, with a strong focus on outcomes, value creation and evolving client goals
  • Identify changes in client circumstances and proactively recommend improvements to strategies, service solutions and overall financial outcomes
  • Provide stock market advice and execute trades on behalf of clients and the organisation, in line with agreed strategies and risk profiles
  • Conduct initial meetings and screening phone calls with new clients to the firm with the aim of converting these leads into ongoing clients.
  • Undertake market analysis, stay current with financial markets, products and industry developments, and apply insights to client advice
  • Actively participate in business development activities to grow and expand your client book
  • Deliver consistently high levels of customer service at every client interaction
  • Maintain accurate client files, systems, records and compliance documentation, ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance standards
  • Work collaboratively with advisers and internal teams to support best‑practice advice delivery and client outcomes

Why Work With Us?

This is an opportunity to join a well‑established and growing regional practice with strong momentum and a genuine pathway for career progression. You’ll step into a supportive environment with access to an existing client base, allowing you to focus on delivering advice and building relationships from day one, rather than starting from scratch.

There is significant scope to grow your client book through a combination of established relationships, internal referrals and active business development support. With strong brand recognition, local presence and operational backing, you’ll be well positioned to expand your footprint in the Mackay region.

For the right adviser, this role offers long‑term potential beyond a traditional employed position. As the practice continues to grow, there is scope for increased responsibility and partnership opportunities, aligned to performance, cultural fit and client outcomes. We are looking for someone who wants to build a career, not just fill a role.

You’ll work alongside experienced advisers and support staff in a collaborative, professional environment that values initiative, accountability and client‑first advice. If you’re motivated by growth, autonomy and the opportunity to shape your future within a respected firm, this role offers a compelling next step.

What you will bring

  • RG146 and FASEA qualifications, and experience as a financial adviser
  • A client‑focused approach, with the ability to build trusted, long‑term relationships
  • Strong relationship‑building and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Sound problem‑solving and analytical capability, with the confidence to translate insights into practical advice
  • High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to documentation and compliance
  • Self‑motivation, professionalism and the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with advisers and internal support teams

Why Mackay?

Mackay offers an outstanding balance between career opportunity and family lifestyle. As the commercial and financial centre of Central Queensland, the region supports a diverse and resilient client base, underpinned by a high‑income mining and resources sector alongside agriculture, small business and professionals. This creates ongoing demand for sophisticated, long‑term financial advice across investments, superannuation and retirement planning.

For families, Mackay delivers a relaxed coastal lifestyle with affordable housing, short commute times and strong access to schools, healthcare and community facilities. Mackay Airport provides direct flights to Brisbane in around 1.5 hours, making travel to and from capital cities straightforward while still enjoying the benefits of regional living.

Outside of work, Mackay is surrounded by natural attractions that support an active, outdoor lifestyle—bushwalks and rainforest trails, tropical islands, fishing, camping and easy access to the Whitsundays. It’s a region that makes it easier to spend quality time with family without compromising professional ambition.
