Major Beneficiaries
Over its 70-year history, the Sydney Film Festival has become a cultural institution known for building support for the Australian film industry through curating films that tackle provocative and important topics through which it promotes dialogue, community and connection. This partnership aligns with Morgans own history of supporting Australian film making, having raised funds for ventures such as Crocodile Dundee in the mid 1980’s, and our previous involvement in the Brisbane Film Festival.
The Morgans Foundation has also lent its support to the Sydney Film Festival, further expanding its existing partnerships within the Arts – the National Emerging Art Prize, the Melbourne Art Fair and the Noosa Alive Festival. The Foundation sits at the heart of Morgans’ commitment to corporate social responsibility, having donated over $17m to more than 350 charities since 2005.
Morgans supports the diverse and inclusive approach to film curation taken by the Sydney Film Festival which strives to provide a platform for under-represented voices across its program. We look forward to the opportunity to enjoy with our clients over 200 films which will be screened at 11 different cinema locations across Sydney between 5-16 June 2024.
We are proud to announce that Morgans has been inducted into the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame, joining a prestigious list of national businesses whose origins began in Queensland. This award recognises Morgans substantial contribution to the national and international financial services sector and its significant contributions to the community. Morgans joins more than 80 business leaders who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, including Domino’s Pizza, Suncorp, Qantas, Ray White, Teys Australia and Blackmores to name a few.
Brian Sheahan, Executive Chairman of Morgans, said: “We are proud to be named alongside such a prestigious group of business leaders and businesses which have grown to be on the national and international stage. We have also been fortunate enough to support many of these businesses in their growth and, importantly, enable many Queensland investors to share in their success. Morgans own growth from a team of five back in 1982 into the national business of over 1000 across all states and territories can be attributed to the strong relationships we have had with our clients, business partners and staff over many years."
Morgans is now Australia's largest national full-service stockbroking and wealth management network operating from offices in all states and territories. The Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame is a partnership between QUT and the State Library of Queensland, supported by the Queensland Government.
