Our Approach
We aim to help you to achieve these goals and objectives by delivering excellence in a range of services from stockbroking, financial planning and superannuation advice. This allows you to feel confident about having enough money to support the lifestyle you desire.
Our Advisory Process
We can produce a complete solution for all your financial needs or we can focus on the specific issues that matter most to you right now. We use a proven financial advice process:
This initial meeting is obligation and cost free. This is an opportunity for your Adviser to gain an understanding of your existing financial situation, your aspirations for the future and to establish whether we have a basis for working together.
At this meeting we will complete a Personal Financial Profile and Risk Profile assessment. These will cover specific information such as identifying your assets, liabilities, income and expenses, your family structure, and other relevant details. Most importantly we will seek to understand the softer personal issues that matter to you - such as your goals and aspirations as well as your fears and concerns so we can truly tailor our advice to your personal requirements. We may ask for other documents such as superannuation statements, tax returns or share and property holdings.
We encourage you to question us on anything that matters to you so you are truly comfortable with us, our people and our approach before you engage us to conduct any work.
Once you and your Adviser have decided that you wish to continue an ongoing working arrangement, we will begin to construct your financial plan by aligning your finances with your lifestyle goals and objectives.
For example, you may want to reduce your tax and boost your superannuation, begin or establish your transition to a retirement income stream, or simply manage your portfolio more actively. We can help you achieve these goals, and many more, by providing a detailed road map to protect and secure your future.
You are under no obligation to proceed until we can provide you with a clear idea of what we can do, how it will benefit you and what it will cost. At this point we will be able to give you an estimate of the work and costs involved so you can authorise us to proceed if that is suitable to you.
Once we have devised your financial strategy, we will confirm this in writing so that you know exactly what we have recommended, how your money will be invested, how much our services will cost and the ongoing service and care you can expect from us.
This written financial plan is called a Statement of Advice (SoA). This is an important legal document that is also the road map to your financial goals. We will generally invest your money via an actively managed portfolio of directly owned assets. This means that where appropriate we avoid the expensive and underperforming managed funds usually owned by the large financial institutions. This ensures that your funds are invested consistently with your personal risk profile to give you maximum confidence and complete peace of mind. It should also be emphasised that we will provide the investment advice and recommendations, however you will always retain complete control over investment decisions at all times.
Once your Statement of Advice has been completed, we will arrange a meeting to take you through our recommendations in a relaxed, low-pressure environment. Our aim is to explain what can be complex concepts and industry jargon in plain English so that you fully understand how we manage your money.
We will step through the list of recommendations in your SoA, and explain our reasons for making each one and the impact it will have on your financial situation. Each recommendation will be carefully justified, and we may also offer alternatives to enable the strategy to be tailored to your personal requirements.
All our investments are transparent, straightforward, and easy to understand. We invest your money the way we invest our own.
If you are happy with our recommendations and are ready to implement them, our team of experts will complete the rest of the process for you.
We can establish new investment accounts, manage superannuation rollovers and account consolidation, establish self-managed super funds, organise cash transfers, establish income streams, make off-market share transfers, insurance applications and liaise with your solicitor or accountant, to name just a few of the tasks we undertake.
Depending on the complexity of your situation, implementation can take from a few weeks to several months. We will keep you up to date throughout, and we have a detailed and active workflow process that is designed to ensure nothing slips through the cracks, so you don’t have to worry.
Life is constantly changing and so are investment markets and the laws and regulations that may affect your financial situation. Once our recommendations have been implemented, we will continue to monitor your finances so that they stay on track and continue to help you work towards your financial goals.
Your Adviser will be in regular contact with you and you are encouraged to call or email us with any queries regarding your financial decisions or situation.
